ABUJA, (CAJ News) - ADAMAWA State based citizens must not be outdoors between evening and the following morning as the military intensifies the hunt against Boko Haram terrorists.
The Nigerian Army has announced on Thursday (today), saying with immediate effect, dusk-to-dawn curfew in the state, one of three under emergency rule President Goodluck Jonathan declared earlier this week.
According to a statement made available to CAJ News in Abuja by the Public Relations Officer of 23rd Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Lt Ja’afaru Nuhu, the curfew would be between 6 pm and 6 am until further notice.
“Sequel to the Presidential declaration of state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states by the President and Commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan, a 6 pm to 6 am curfew has been imposed on Adamawa state.
"All law-abiding citizens are advised to abide by the curfew. The three states have been characterised by violence in recent weeks," Nuhu said.
The move follows numerous activities of terrorism being spearheaded by the notorious Boko Haram bandits, which to date, has killed more than 1000 people.
