CAPE TOWN, (CAJ News) – SOUTH Africa's David Gatebe made history when he won the 44th Old Mutual Two Oceans marathon in a tightly contested race in Cape Town on Saturday.
Gatebe outclassed seasoned Kenyan athlete Henry Kipsan and several others to claim the top accolade.
The race, which attracted a field of 12 000 runners also saw another South African, Natalia Volgina win the contest for females, a move that confirmed thorough preparations by the hosting nation.
